Healthy Chats was founded in 1993 by Dr. Chrystal de Freitas. Committed to providing parents with accurate, age-appropriate information to help them teach their children about puberty. The doctor’s own experiences as a pediatrician, author and mother of three led her to this mission.

Healthy Chats believes that health education is very much the responsibility of parents at home, regardless of what may or may not be covered in school at a later time. We assist parents in this process by providing a place for information and resources -- starting at an early age with “The Birds and the Bees with Ease!"^™ and continuing on to that important conversation about puberty and womanhood between mothers and their pre-teen daughters, ages 9-12. (Of course, boys go through puberty too  -- and so we've begun to offer a similar seminar entitled "Healthy Chats for Boys" on a limited basis.)

For those moms and girls unable to attend our seminars, we've recently released “My First Period Kit & DVD^™.” Winner of the  2010 Mom's Choice Award (GOLD recipient), this helpful tool includes a 99-minute DVD featuring the fun, informative Healthy Chats for Girls seminar for mothers to view with their daughters. Also included is the Bonus DVD Extra: The Birds and the Bees with Ease!
